I am happy to report that rumours of Jerry Dustin's death have been greatly exaggerated. I had never really heard from anyone who knew the exact circumstances of his death, just that he was probably dead- i.e. he had been living on the streets for years, was in bad shape, hadn't been seen for more years etc. When I was at the reunion I checked for a death certificate at the county courthouse, checking all of Montana back to 2001- he wasn't listed. Then I talked to Connie Dye, who had found out that he was alive and had found his niece on facebook. Thank you Connie! From there I found his brother Dick in Arizona, called him and found that Jerry has been living at the Deer Lodge Rehabilitation and Care Center for the last 4 years, after spending several years at a similar center in Billings. I called Jerry, he is doing surprisingly well after having two strokes and two heart attacks over the years. He needs supplementary oxygen, and says his one joy in life is smoking, he looks forward to his 4 smoking breaks each day. He has no recollection of how he got there, but otherwise his memory of old times seemed quite good. We talked about old times for nearly an hour. I plan on stopping to see him next summer when I next visit Montana.
Thanks again Connie for your help!

The KIA bracelet that I have been wearing for my friend Mike Padilla for almost 50 years. This is the third or fourth one as they wear out. I also wear a Thin Blue Line bracelet for my three kids that are a retired police officer, a deputy sheriff and a state trooper.

Hello Steve. I remember you from Lincoln. Are you going to attend reunion?

What a great weekend. I enjoyed every event. My wife enjoyed meeting and visiting with new and old frends also. Everytime I would run off to catch someelse I wanted to talk with, I would return to the table with her eather visiting with classmates or off to another with her catching up with others on her own. She said it was such a comfortable atmosphere she felt at home. It is easy to see classmates do this, but when spouses feel that way, I belive it is a very successful events. Thanks to each and everyone that attended. You deserve a big hand.

Leslie and I became friends in the third grade when I moved to Billings from Washington. When I moved I lost contact with her until High School and we had gone separate ways but I will always remember the gentle person she was and time we shared.

I was in a few classes with Holly at Lincoln, she always made me laugh. I ;hope she never lost that wonderful sence of humor.

Leslie was such a ray of sunshine. I will always remember her smile and the twinkle in her eyes.  Hope that smile is still shinning down on us.

Was great seeing you at the Reunion committee meeting last night. Like the talk about the school days, even your North Park days. So many old classmates went there also it was good to hear about them before JR High. Funny how the memories just flood in during conversations.
Hope you are enjoying Billings. If you get board, give a call and will try to find something interesting to see or do.

Hello Dirk. Glad to see you were able to signup with this site. Hope you can make the Reunion. Joe is still planning on coming, just not sure of details yet.
Thanks for the information on Grant. He will always be remembered. The biggest agreement we all got into, Me Grant Tom and Joe, was which had more impact in an argument, a 14 syllable cuss word or a fourteen word string of cuss words. Grant should have been on the debate team. His illogical arguments won out hands down. He had us laughing so hard no one could challenge him.
Getting ready for this Reunion has driven home the reality of how far out of touch I drifted from all friends and climates. My goal is to reconnect with as meany as I can.

Hi Rich-
Boy, do I remember that night. I think that can of Crisco was a weapon of convenience rather than a weapon of choice. I am writing that off as one many other cases of youthful excess that we were lucky to survive. I see you live in Polson; my wife is from Yellow Bay, it's a beautiful area. I hope the intervening years have been good to you, and hope to see you at the reunion!
